VOLUNTEER
Thank you for being willing to volunteer for the International Student Furniture Giveaway! We are thrilled to have you join us as we seek to care for these students well! At the bottom of the page is a list of volunteer positions and their roles for the Giveaway Event. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about any position, please go ahead and sign up, but let us know in the “Notes or Comments” section of the signup form.
Giveaway Event Volunteer Information
Giveaway Event volunteer shifts are two hours long. Please arrive 30 minutes before your shift start time so that we can have a smooth transition between shifts without delays. If you are unable to stay for a full two hours, please indicate so in the “Notes or Comments” section of the signup form. We will do our best to place you where preferred, but we may have to place you in another spot if needed. Thank you for being willing to serve!

Volunteer Positions and Description
Check-in
Attends the registration table and assists students through the registration process.
Host
Welcomes students after registration, distrubutes refreshments, and helps students respond to number calling.
Showroom Mover
Moves furniture from inside the building to the proper loading zone outside. This position is physically demanding and requires the volunteer to be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs repeatedly.
Taxi Driver
Taxi students to their apartments. May at times also taxi Delivery Movers back and forth. You must provide your own vehicle. Preferably a vehicle which can fit four or more passengers at a time.
Greeter
Greets students outside of the building and provides directions to the registration table.
Showroom Attendant
Walks with students through the showroom assisting them in picking out furniture, marking it properly, and giving the information to showroom movers.
Delivery Mover
Load the furniture into a delivery vehicle. Then rides with the vehicle and moves the furniture into the student’s apartment. This position is physically demanding and requires the volunteer to be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs repeatedly (this may be up or downstairs as well).
Delivery Driver
Drives furniture and sometimes Delivery Movers from the showroom to the student’s apartment. Drivers can also volunteer as Delivery Movers, but you are not required to help move furniture unless you would like to. You must provide your own vehicle, preferably a pickup truck or vans with all the rear seats removed.
