The Furniture Giveaway was halted for three years during the pandemic, during which time we lost momentum, recognition, and access to resources cultivated over the eight years prior. Over those same three years, the needs of international students have grown, and we are in need of individuals, organizations, and businesses that will partner with us to help meet those needs.
Partners can help in various ways, some of which are listed below. In 2023, our summer storage space was limited, we had fewer volunteers than we had hoped for, and we needed more vehicles to help deliver furniture. We seek partners to advocate for students’ needs and the furniture giveaway. Partners can help us find and recruit volunteers, spread the word through social media, text people you know, share within organizations, or even post flyers. We also seek partners who can help us find summer storage solutions and help us financially to cover storage and truck rental costs.
